Jason Kidd signs with EA/NBA Live 2003 online PS2

Jason Kidd, point guard for the New Jersey Nets, has been announced as the cover athlete for EA Sports' NBA Live 2003 currently being developed for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and the GameCube. When interviewed for comment, Kidd had this to say. "I am very excited about working on EA Sports on NBA Live 2003. It's an honor to be on the cover of a game with so much history. I look forward to getting together with the developers this summer and adding my thoughts to help make NBA Live 2003 the best basketball video game around."

At a recent EA Sports event, the developers had NBA Live 2003 playable on both PlayStation 2 and Xbox. So far, both versions are shaping up nicely, and the PlayStation 2 version was even being played online against EA representatives in their offices in Canada. The game was set up on a network connection that was said to be equal to that of cable or DSL connections, and the game's online features performed almost flawlessly with almost no lag. NBA Live 2003 will support both narrowband and broadband connections when the title ships for the PlayStation 2 in late October.
