Activision attains Gungrave rights
Activision announced today that it has secured the European and Australian publishing rights for the Playstation 2 shooter Gungrave. Sega's title is scheduled to ship this winter and features the unique cel-shaded technique. Players assume the role of an assassin who is sent from beyond the grave to take on a criminal organization. The character Grave will possess two fast-action handguns and a coffin on his back with more concealed weapons. The game showcases six stages with the ability to unlock additional moves.
"The action in Gungrave is relentless and intense, giving gamers an adrenaline-fuelled roller coaster ride through a set of superbly designed levels," states Kathy Vrabeck, executive vice president global publishing and brand management for Activision. "Developer Red Entertainment -- in conjunction with legendary Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow -- has produced a masterpiece for the demanding all-action gamer, featuring huge battles, evil bosses and scenery-crunching gameplay. With its DVD-quality cut scenes and frantic combat, the game cannot help but draw players into its dark, stylish, futuristic world."
