Ray Allen signs on to NBA Shootout 2003

Sony Computer Entertainment America announced today that it has signed the Milwaukee Bucs guard Ray Allen as the cover for 989 Sports NBA ShootOut 2003. The game features Career mode, new player models, textures, and interactions, including accurate body types, with details as refined as tattoos, goggles, head, wrist and armbands. Due September 24 for the PS2, Ray Allen emulates the style of play 989 Sports is hoping to accomplish with NBA Shootout 2003.

Allen led the league in three-point field goals and averaged more than 20 points per game in the last three seasons. He is ranked among the leaders in points per game and free throw percentage and will be a main factor in both the AI and gameplay.

"We can't think of a better player, and person, than Ray Allen to be our cover athlete for NBA ShootOut 2003," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Ray truly represents the excitement of the NBA game. His incredible scoring ability, and his knowledge and experience of the game, helped us develop the most exciting and realistic basketball game ever available for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2. We are also very proud to align ourselves with one of the most charitable players in the NBA, and we look forward to helping him continue his great work with the 'Ray of Hope' Foundation."
