Vivendi announces new studio

  Vivendi Universal Publishing announced today that it has created Black Label Games, a new studio responsible for PC and next-generation console games. Vivendi's other studios include Blizzard Entertainment, Sierra, and Universal Interactive. As for Black Label Games specifically, its first titles planned to be published include The Thing and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

   "Black Label Games will target the rapidly growing audience for Teen- to Mature-rated games," said Ken Cron, CEO of Vivendi Universal Games. "Through Black Label, we will focus on delivering innovative, high-quality titles to satisfy the growing consumer appetite for increasingly sophisticated content."
