Red Faction 2 goes gold
The first-person shooter Red Faction II has gone gold, as announced by THQ. The first Red Faction, released last year, had the player assume the role of a young miner on Mars by the name of Parker, who led a revolution against the slave-driving mining company, Ultor Corporation. The sequel will follow the exploits of Alias, an expert in demolitions, as he joins five squad members attempting an overthrow of the government. There will be a vast arsenal of powerful weaponry and an assortment of vehicles to help Alias accomplish his goals. The AI has been updated, and the Geo-Mod technology, which made the original Red Faction stand out from the common FPS by allowing destructible environments, returns with an enhanced version.
Coming October 16th, Red Faction II will be released as an exclusive title for the PlayStation 2.
