Eidos delays Tomb Raider

Eidos announced today that Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness will be delayed until February 2003. Originally set with a November 2002 release, the company stated the delay will help it polish and refine the game, while presenting the best possible product to its consumer. This the first time the series has ever received this type of delay and it has come as a shock to most analysists in the videogame industry. However, Eidos management stated that Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness is in the final stages of testing.

Although a sad situation on that front, Eidos also included in their press release that both Hitman 2 and TimeSplitters 2 are doing exceptionally well. "Eidos currently maintains a hold on the No.1 and No.2 positions in the UK charts with these two titles, both of which entered the charts at the No.1 position in their first week of launch."
