New features for NHL 2K3
Sega announced today an assortment of game features for NHL 2K3. Hitting retailers next week for the PlayStation 2, the game is showcasing new features not found in other hockey titles. NHL 2K3 allows goaltenders to react to slap shots, wristers, one-timers, and deflections imitating realistically their real-life counterparts. The system is known as Reactive Goalie Positioning and is receiving a lot of praise from critics around the industry.
"The days of static goalies with limited and unrealistic movements are over," says Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts Entertainment, a Sega development studio. "Goalies use every limb to try and stop pucks from going to the back of the net. That is how the game of hockey is played, so that's exactly how we want NHL 2K3 to be played."
NHL 2K3 is also features an all new Complete Lines Control system. No longer will gamers have to flip back to the menu to set offensive and defensive strategies. Players will now have the ability to rotate offensive, defensive, power play, and penalty kill lines independently.
Overall, NHL 2K3 is shaping up to be one of the best hockey titles released in a long time. We will keep you updated as the release date nears.
