Disney's Treasure Planet coming to PS2 and PSX
Sony Computer Entertainment America and Disney Interactive announced today the release of Disney's Treasure Planet for the PS2 and PSX. The game is based off of the movie "Treasure Island", which opens in theaters nationwide on November 27. Players take the role of Jim Hawkins, a cabin boy, and his object shaping pet Morph, who can transform into valuable tools and help solve puzzles.
"We are excited to expand both our PlayStation and PlayStation 2 libraries with entertaining and engaging Disney content that brings the movie experience into the home for all ages," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "We continue to reaffirm our commitment in delivering quality titles for the whole family with the PlayStation catalogs while bringing to life a new vision for a classic tale with updated audio and visual capabilities for this Holiday season on PlayStation 2."
"Disney's Treasure Planet for PlayStation and PSOne game consoles builds upon the story in the movie, where Jim leaves home in search of treasure to discover the treasure within himself. Gamers will go beyond the realms of the motion picture to discover new characters, environments and gameplay elements while viewing cut-scenes that tie in the feature film narrative. Featuring 10 levels, mini-games and boss challenges as well as original artwork, behind-the-scenes game footage and stored movie clips, there is added replay value for all to enjoy."
