Intrinsic releases graphic technology

Intrinsic Graphics Inc. announced today that it has released a graphics development tool called Intrinsic Alchemy PVS. The technology allows prioritization of objects on screen with efficient data calculations, all while not having to draw objects off screen.

"Intrinsic is a well-respected developer of graphics technology," said Harri Holopainen, CTO at Hybrid Graphics. "The goal of Hybrid is to provide focused technology solutions for middleware vendors. "In this case, Intrinsic customers are now able to automatically pre-compute visibility sets for complex databases in order to optimize their rendering without any impact on CPU time."

"During the development of PVS, Intrinsic has worked closely with Hybrid, the leading expert on visibility optimization. Hybrid's Shaft technology provides analytically exact results faster than any other known visibility implementation," said Michael T. Jones, CTO at Intrinsic Graphics. "Hybrid has tightly integrated their technology directly with the Alchemy art-pipeline to make for better ease of use for Intrinsic customers."

Intrinsic Alchemy PVS is available for PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC and GameCube this month.
