Amplitude announced for the PS2

Sony Computer Entertainment America announced today Amplitude for the Playstation 2. The game is a unique extension to Frequency and is scheduled for a March 2003 release. The game has been developed exclusively for the PS2 and is described as a "fast-paced addictive rhythm action game that will appeal to gamers and music enthusiasts alike."

Amplitude includes songs and video content from David Bowie, Weezer, Garbage, Quarashi, Logan 7, as well as other major recording artists. Players have the opportunity to create custom remixes, along with customizing how each instrument sounds. The game is also online via the Network Adaptor and will challenge the musical talents of those who are interested.

"We are thrilled to introduce Amplitude to rhythm action fans of PlayStation 2. Playing Amplitude online offers new opportunities for gamers to join online communities and share their experiences with other gamers across the country," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Providing a gorgeous gameplay atmosphere, the addictive gameplay will keep players entertained for hours, and provide a whole new avenue for music artists to reach their fans."
