Activision lengthens license contract with Marvel

Activision announced today that it has extended its license to Marvel Comics’ character franchises Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Iron Man through 2009. Activision thus retains the exclusive rights to produce games based on those characters for the foreseeable future. Activision is already in development with Fantastic Four and Iron Man games for multiple platforms. There are also "several new Spider-Man based games" planned for release in 2003 and 2004.

Also announced, X-Men: Wolverine's Revenge will be re-titled X2: Wolverine's Revenge to correlate better with the upcoming X-Men movie sequel. We’ll keep you updated on all information concerning Marvel and Activision’s upcoming games.
