Take-Two takes on the pool sharks with Q-Ball.
Take-Two Interactive has released some details on its realistic pool simulation for PS2, Q-Ball. As mentioned, the title is superlatively realistic, opting to let the gamer control such aspects as ball friction, speed, the collision element, as well as the roll of the ball. There are numerous play modes, including U.S. nine, international nine, Frozen and Free play, a straight pool mode, rotation, and a number of bonus games. Q-Ball should be a natural for billiard buffs (the game even provides pool lessons from Yoshikazu Kimura, a Japanese pool pro), but still is forgiving enough for beginners to pick up easily. The game is scheduled to release at the same relative time as Playstation 2.
