Deka-Voice scheduled for Japan

Sony announced today that a game by the name of Deka-Voice will be coming to the Playstation 2 in Japan. The title involves the use of a USB microphone, striking a similar style in controlling players as SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals. Deka-Voice is a cel-shaded action adventure game, with very little known about the story so far. The few facts we obtained show the main character is a detective that has a dog for a companion. Both characters respond to commands given through a USB microphone and we also figure other aspects of the game will use this technology. Also, as an added bonus, those of you who own Sony’s interactive pet dog AIBO can observe the electronic wonder also reacting to the action onscreen.

Deka-Voice is scheduled for a mid-February release in Japan, and Sony currently has no plans to release the game in North America. We’ll keep you updated on any information concerning its hopeful stateside release.
