DreamCatcher opens office in Europe

DreamCatcher Interactive announced recently that it has opened an office in Paris in order to take advantage of new business opportunities. DreamCatcher had planned to release games in Europe until French Publisher Cryo Interactive closed last year. Oliver Pierre will head the new European office, as he was previously co-managing the Wanadoo Edition director. DreamCatcher has released games in the past that include Syberia, Iron Storm, and Hegemonia: Legions of Iron and plans to release Battlecruiser Generations, Harbinger, and The Omega Stone in the near future. Although there are no official release dates for these games, the company has announced that it hopes to open game stores in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal before the end of February.

"This is a signal that DreamCatcher is determined to maintain its aggressive growth strategy, particularly in the PC adventure games market," said Richard Wah Kan, president and CEO. "Having greater control over the production, publishing, and distribution process within Europe will allow us to more effectively duplicate the success we have enjoyed in North America--there's great potential for us."
