Midway's Rollcage 2 set to crash into Playstation 2.
Following in the tradition of popular Playstation titles like Twisted Metal and Destruction Derby, Midway's Rollcage series has been popular with fans of the genre. Today, Midway announced that the sequel to the original hit driving destruction game will be coming to the Playstation 2. Rollcage 2 lets gamers romp endlessly through a world where anything is fair game. The game's premise has always been based on the notion of 'go anywhere, do anything, kill anything,' and Rollcage 2 isn't looking like it will drop that legacy. From tunnels, to bridges, to cliffs, anything goes in this title.
Helene Sheeler, the vice president of marketing at Midway had this to say about the upcoming PS2 destruction orgy, "Rollcage Stage 2 is a game for core fans of speed and destruction." She also stated, "The new additions and features make this version of Rollcage the ultimate combat racing videogame." Rollcage 2 a whopping sixty-five tracks, twenty cars, and an equally amazing sixteen gameplay modes and twelve weapons. The game apparently has some new gameplay mechanics, guarding against spin-outs and improving the handling of the cars. The game is astronomically larger and more in depth than its predecessor, and should prove a real treat to fans anxiously waiting to go crashing through the game's environs at 128 bits.
