E3 2003: Midway Reveals E3 Lineup

As we continue to gear up for the official start of E3, Midway released their roster of games to be shown at the big show this morning. Here's a peek at the PS2 games that they'll be showing:

ESPionage: What if Solid Snake and Psycho Mantis mated? Well, that's the basic idea behind ESPionage, due for a Fall 2003 release. Aside from the usual stealth and action that Metal Gear fans are used to, look for some "sixth sense" psychic powers, including telekinesis, pytokinesis, mind drain, mind control, and more. It's certainly as interesting idea and it's a game that's got our attention here at PSXE.

The Suffering: Midway terms this game as an action/adventure title which "captures the disturbing and terrifying nature of the horror genre," according to this morning's press release. The game is set to span nine levels and feature dynamic lighting and action-filled combat, to go along with multiple endings. Look for this game come Halloween 2003.

SpyHunter 2: Attempting to build on their remarkable success with their update on the SpyHunter franchise, SpyHunter2 boasts new missions, new characters, and some new modifications to the G-8155 Interceptor (or your car, whichever you prefer). This game is also set for release sometime during this fall.

Freaky Flyers: This game is an aerial adventure that combines stunt flying, digfighting, adventure elements, and a storyline that is slated to include 13 characters. It's currently scheduled for release this August.

Other games on the Midway E3 docket include Roadkill, NFL Blitz Pro, NHL Hitz Pro, NBA Ballers, and Freestyle MetalX. Surprisingly, there is no mention of the next Mortal Kombat installment in this press release, but we'll be sure to keep out eyes open when the big show gets officially underway later this week.

Stay tuned for more E3 updates throughout the week here at PSX Extreme.
