E3 2003: EA Keeps 007 Exclusivity Through 2010
Electronic Arts announced today that they have retained the exclusive rights to the James Bond franchise until 2010. This agreement with MGM Interactive and Danjaq, LLC gives EA use of all things Bond, from characters to books to movies and beyond.
EA President and COO John Riccitiello had this to say about the agreement: "James Bond is one of the most popular and enduring figures in the history of video games. The action and intrigue of the James Bond character is a perfect fit for the interactive genre and the generation that loves video games. This agreement guarantees that the Bond world-- all the characters, gadgets, and action-- will continue to thrill players on this generation of video game console technology and the next."
EA's next Bond project, called James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing, is scheduled for a release late this year and will be showcased at E3 this week. Look for more coverage on this game-- and the rest of the EA lineup and beyond-- as E3 week continues here at PSX Extreme.
