E3 2003: Sega Sports' 2K4 Season Gets Bigger Boost From ESPN
Sega and ESPN today announced an even tighter working relationship going into the new season of Sega Sports' 2K sports titles, beginning with the release of NFL 2K4 this coming August. Specific additions include the addition of actual ESPN personalities to provide commentary for certain games, as well as new stat overlay designs, more authentic ESPN music taken directly from ESPN telecasts, and new FMV openers featuring actual ESPN sets from SportsCenter and Sunday NFL Countdown.
Regarding the expanded role of ESPN in the presentation style of the upcoming Sega Sports 2K4 games, Greg Thomas of Visual Concepts stated, "We've built a powerful sports video game brand by combining two of the biggest names in the business. In our second year of the relationship, we are celebrating the successful integration of ESPN into our games with a more enhanced and robust look for the '2K4' lineup. Last year, we added a few ESPN features that were met with great enthusiasm by gamers. In the '2K4' series we are taking the integration to the next level with a new look and feel that even more sports fans and gamers will identify with and appreciate."
