E3 2003: Capcom unveils new Maximo and Resident Evil titles

Capcom today revealed more information about two of their upcoming PS2 titles-- Maximo vs. Army of Zin and Resident Evil Outbreak.

Maximo vs. Army of Zin is the follow-up to the last year's acclaimed platformer. In this sequel, eight months have passed since the end of the first game and Maximo encounters a new enemy in his search for Sophia: a strange "clockwork" monster who is powered by captured souls of the dead. Maximo vs. Army of Zin promises several improvements and new features, including rewards for saving innocents or slaying monsters more quickly, new collectible boxer shorts complete with new functionalities, and more. This game is currently scheduled for a release sometime this fall.

Resident Evil Outbreak, due this winter, takes the Resident Evil franchise online for the first time and puts players in the roles of ordinary Raccoon City citizens after most of the city has been infected and turned into zombies. Now, the survivors are in a race against time to find a way out of Raccoon City before they are either infected themselves or are killed by a government missile aimed at destroying Raccoon City and wiping the disaster clean. Branching storylines and online character interaction are both promised in this game, and there will also be single-player offline scenarios to tackle.

Look for more info on these Capcom titles-- as well as Onimusha 3 and others-- as the information becomes available and just after E3.
