E3 2003: Air Force Delta Stirke hands on impressions
Iím not going to waste much time on this. Air Force Delta has already stolen enough of my life with the time I absolutely wasted on this demo. Air Force Delta Strike is the new PS2 version of the Air Force Delta franchise that first appeared on the Dreamcast. While the Dreamcast version was fun enough, it had a lot of problems and limitations that we all expected to be ironed out in the inevitable sequels. They havenít.
My time with this game lasted long enough for me to realize how badly they need to work on the graphics. Don't let the screenshots fool you, because this game looks terrible in motion. This realization was followed by my plane going into an unchecked climb to over 90,000 feet. After repeatedly being told to lower my altitude, which I couldnít, my F-22 Raptor immediately pulled a 180 and plunged head first into the ocean, all as if on autopilot. Thank God our real American military vehicles are not made this poorly.
Konami needs to spend a lot of time with this game. It looks terrible, and plays worse. Without a lot of catch up, this is one game that will go nowhere fast, and in reality should probably just be scrapped.
