E3 2003: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Hands-On Impressions
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is simply a wonderful looking game that I sincerely hope can maintain its potential throughout development. The demo I played involved an outdoor scene with numerous guards to contend with. The lighting effects of the game are beautiful and really show off a nice blend of texture and shadowing qualities. The battle sequences are incredibly sharp and exhibit a sense of excitement that is known to the martial arts genre. Players assume the role of Shu Lien, as she must progress through levels and specific mission objectives. In terms of control, CTHD is impressive and extremely responsive. As I was being attacked from one side and finished my enemy, I could immediately move to attack other opponents with effectiveness.
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of those games that seriously have potential to be a promising title that appeals to numerous gamers. With nice looking graphics and a battle system that appears to be in-depth at the moment, I have to give my recommendation of this game. I honestly didnít expect a whole lot going into the game, and possibly that contributed to my gracious impressions of it, but currently I am quite impressed with CTHD. Expect more information on the game in the near future, so stay tuned to PSX Extreme.
