Square Enix Announces Yearly Plans
Square Enix has announced a number of upcoming projects, along with status details concerning the company. It has maintained an income rate of 40 percent, with others being around 15 to 20 percent. According to Square Enix, the Japanese market is declining compared with the overseas market, where it sees high growth potential in Europe. As for North America, it has no plans to change its lineup, although sports titles and shooters take in the majority of sales. The company will release all major titles in a timely fashion without large gaps in between games. Final Fantasy XII is expected this year, and Dragon Quest VIII will be released next year. Kingdom Hearts 2 is awaiting approval by Disney, but should receive a release date in the near future.
As for the company's online projections, Square Enix is estimating sales of 10 billion yen ($84 million) during the year, which is one-sixth of its total annual income. Although the company posted a 1 billion yen ($8 million) loss last year, it expects a 2.8 billion yen ($23 million) profit in this year.
