Oddworld moves on over to X-Box and away from PS2.
Well today in what may be worse news than only 500,000 PS2 units shipping, Oddworld Inhabitants announced that their newest Oddworld game, Munch's Oddysee has been canned for the PS2 and will now be an exclusive X-Box title. There are more than one explanations for this, one being that Oddworld believed that the PS2 was "too hard to develop for" (damn babies) and that Microsoft made a little alliance with the developer. Now Munch's Oddysee will be released on the X-Box's launch date next year in Fall 2001, and will NEVER be released on the PS2.
Frankly I'm pissed off, Munch's Oddysee was one of the very first showcased PS2 games last year when the PS2 was just revealed, and I was oozing with anticipation when I heard that Infogrames would hope to release the game on launch day for PS2. Then they said that Oddworld needs more time so they changed the date to First Quarter 2001, when in-fact those extra five-six months were just so Oddworld can go and kiss Bill Gate's ass. You guys have to excuse me for my somewhat vulgar language, it's just that Oddworld (both game and developer) rose my hopes so high that I nearly punched a hole in my monitor, I'm sure you fans will feel the same way when you read this. Right now the only word that comes to mind, every time I think of Oddworld Inhabitants is: "sellouts". And that ladies and gentlemen are my two cents! Let's just hope that the whole Oddworld series doesn't become an Microsoft property.
