Interplay Entertainment announces Airborne: Liberation
Interplay Entertainment and BattleBorne Entertainment announced today a third-person action game called Airborne: Liberation. The title is inspired by World War II, as players assume the role of a private dropped into the D-Day invasion. Once deployed into action, players have the choice to fight as the British Red Devils, the 101st "Screaming Eagles" Division, or the 82nd Airborne. Other key battles will also be featured in Airborne: Liberation, including Operation Market Garden, the siege of Bastogne, and the final assault on Hitler's Germany. Also, the game's cooperative play allows two players to fight through the entire game on a single screen, as a single player mode is also available.
"We're really excited about Airborne: Liberation and look forward to combining efforts with BattleBorne to bring this history-based gameplay experience to consumers," said Jim Molitor, vice president of product development for Interplay.
Airborne: Liberation is scheduled for release next year on June 6 (60th Anniversary of D-Day).
