Digital Leisure's wave of classic games set to hit Playstation 2.
Recently Digital Leisure announced that they would be releasing several of their classic titles, which would be DVD compatible; and available for use with the Playstation 2. These titles are to include Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair 2, Space Ace, and the new one: Hologram Time Traveler. The titles are heavy on videos, and can be played on a standard DVD player.
Elizabeth Foster, president of Digital Leisure, had this to say about the development, "It's a great combination -- the hottest new technology and the classics that redefined an industry." She elaborated, "We're tremendously excited to be able to bring our games to a new console gaming audience." Such projects have been attempted in the past, (Namco's Museum Classics), and these games are great ways to introduce younger gamers who have never had a chance to play the classics of the industry, and give them an opportunity to see what games were like when gameplay was the only concern of developers. These upcoming games from Digital Leisure might be something to watch for if you're interested in gaming's history.
