Babbage's Etc. reveals their plans for Playstation 2.

Today, Babbage's Etc. announced their plans for the Playstation 2's U.S. launch on October 26th. Apparently, the company plans to open many of its establishments at midnight, so gamers who pre-ordered the system won't have to wait as long to get the console home. Babbage's Etc. controls and operates numerous game retail businesses including Babbage's, Software Etc., Gamestop, and Funcoland.

Dan Dematteo, the president of Babbage's Etc., had this to say about the announcement, "Demand for the system is unprecedented, and we expect the launch will result in spectacular sales and inventory turnover for Babbage's, Etc." Dematteo added, "As the world's largest specialty retailer of videogame and PC entertainment software, we have been working around the clock to prepare for the launch and ensure our customers the broadest selection of games and accessories available."

Babbage's has been heavily promoting the Playstation 2, featuring the system on posters, magazine ads and many other media outlets. Babbage's, Etc. has trained its employees to better inform gamers as to the best games the buyer can pick up at launch. Those who didn't pre-order the system, or don't expect to be obtaining the system on the 26th, will be notified by the retail stores when more units become available throughout the rest of this year's holiday season.
