Atari brings trivial pursuit to the PS2
Atari announced today that they will be bringing Trivial Pursuit Unhinged to the Playstation 2 in time for the holiday season. The game is currently being developed by Artech Studios and will feature six celebrity personalities who will ask questions from various categories:
John Ratzenberger (a.k.a. Cliff from Cheers)- Wild Card
Terry Bradshaw- Sports and Leisure
Brooke Burke- People and Places
Whoopi Goldberg- Arts and Entertainment
John Cleese- History
Bill Nye, "The Science Guy"- Science and Nature
In addition to celebrity appearances, the game will also feature enhancements over the traditional board game, such as questions based on multimedia clips. Players will also be able to participate in an "unhinged" mode, where you can bet on other players' answers, steal wedges from other players, and earn bonus points.
"Bringing the Trivial Pursuit Unhinged game to next-generation console platforms will allow us to take everything people love about the board game even further by offering more ways to interact with other players, exciting new game play features and entertaining multimedia questions," said Nancy MacIntyre, vice president of marketing for Atari. "The Trivial Pursuit Unhinged game will stay true to the spirit and essence of the classic board game while also fully embracing the pace and distinctive style of console game play."
We'll have more information on Trivial Pursuit: Unhinged as it develops.
