ESPN takes hockey online next month

The official release date of ESPN NHL Hockey has been set for September 9th. Featuring online gameplay for both the Playstation2 and the Xbox, NHL Hockey will allow players to engage in "Skills Competitions" as well as enjoy active voice chat during the gameplay.

ESPN NHL Hockey also has several new features, such as the "Skybox" section, where players can unlock various bonus items throughout the game. Such bonuses include 60 retro uniforms and 30 "era" teams, such as the 1994 Rangers.

Adding realism to the affair is ESPN's number one hockey commentary team Gary Thorne and Bill Clement, who will provide play-by-play and color commentary in the game.
