EA titles breaking sales records

According to Electronic Arts, this year's editions of Madden NFL Football 2004 and NCAA Football 2004 are both in the process of breaking sales records set just last year. Madden 2004, though only shipping less than a month ago, has already sold over 2 million copies and according to EA is responsible for more than 200,000 new Playstation2 users signing up for online play. NCAA 2004, which was released in July, has already sold well over a million copies, and is the second biggest selling sports game on all consoles behind the Madden series.

"The data we're getting from retailers indicates this could be another record breaking year for Madden NFL and NCAA Football," said EA senior vice president of marketing Frank Gibeau. "The season is just beginning and serious fans have already been to the store twice for football games made by EA Sports."
