Sony out-sources Playstation2 assembly
Every year, annual estimates show that more than 50 percent of video games are shipped during the holiday season. This year, anywhere from 100 to 150 Playstation2 games are expected to hit store shelves between September and December. In anticipation of this annual "busy season", Sony has signed an agreement with Zomax Incorporated which allow that company's facility, based in Fremont, California, to assemble Playstation2 CDs and DVDs.
This agreement will allow Sony Computer Entertainment America, as well as other Playstation2 publishers, to use this facility for assembly of their software for shipment during the holiday season.
