Ubi Soft talks online XIII

Ubi Soft outlined the details of online play for their upcoming shooter XIII today. After confirming release of the game on all current consoles, the French games publisher described online support for the various consoles. Each console will feature classic gameplay such as "deathmatch", "team deathmatch" and "capture the flag". However, the Playstation2 version will feature exclusive gameplay modes such as Power Up. Power Up is basically your classic deathmatch, with the inclusion of bizarre power ups that players can acquire during battle.

Another mode, The Hunt, will allow players to chase a target through a level, scoring points each time the target is hit. Repeated hits decrease the size of the target, making successive hits harder as the level progresses.

The Playstation2 version will also feature an offline, two-player split-screen mode in addition to four-player online play. XIII is currently set for a fall 2003 release, and we'll have more information on this title as it becomes available.
