SSX receives praise from across the globe.
EA's highly touted Playstation 2 snowboarding title SSX has achieved a gold rating from one of Japan's most definitive videogame publications. The title scored a 32/40 in the publication, and according to Famitsu's system, any title that achieves a rating of 30 or above is probable to perform well.
Chris Thompson, the VP of studio and business development for EA Square in Japan, was happy with the praise the game is receiving. He said, "Extreme Racing SSX will be a defining title on the PlayStation 2 platform in all territories. The game has captured accolades from one of Japan's toughest videogame critics for its amazing graphics and gameplay." He elaborated, "Early reviews and ratings from highly respected magazines like Famitsu can be a key indication of how well a particular game will be embraced worldwide." The title was EA's best ever according to Famitsu, and EA hopes it won't disappoint. SSX is extremely impressive, and one of Sony's first killer apps for the PS2. The game certainly deserves all the praise it gets, and more than makes up for the relative lack of blockbusters at the launch of Playstation 2.
Enjoy this one everybody; it's something special.
