Sony Cuts 20,000 Jobs

While it doesnít yet affect the gaming side of the company, Sony has started making some cutbacks. Sony Corp. has decided to cut up to 20,000 jobs and halt domestic production of cathode-ray tubes for televisions as it launches company reforms, it has been learned.

The moves are expected to be included in a structural reform plan lasting until the 2005 financial year that the electronics giant will announce on October 28. Nothing was announced on if and how this would affect SCEA.
