Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Goes Gold

Ubisoft announced today that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for the PlayStation2 has reached gold master status and is expected to hit store shelves in the coming weeks. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time boasts fluid animations, ingenious and challenging level design, a gripping story, an inimitable hero and the ability to manipulate time - all woven into a unique and immersive gaming experience.

Created by Ubisoft's Montreal studio, in close collaboration with original Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is expected to be one of the smash hits of the Holiday season. Excitement surrounding the game has been steadily building since it received numerous awards at E3 2003, with several industry heavyweights singling it out as a Game of the Year contender.

"Everyone who's seen this game has been completely floored. With top-notch animations, challenging fighting, and a completely engrossing story, it has to be played to be believed," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. "From dynamic loading and gorgeous lighting effects to sophisticated technology, Prince of Persia represents yet another masterpiece - one that will help Ubisoft cap off a banner year on a very high note."
