Irem announces plans for Gekisya Boy 2 on the PlayStation 2.

Third party developer Irem has recently announced plans for a PlayStation 2 game entitled Gekisya Boy 2, which is the sequel to their previous photography simulation. The title is set for release in January of 2001. Gekisya Boy 2's gameplay is quite unique, as it has the gamer exploring stages and photographing objects as they appear onscreen. The game rewards speed, as the faster you snap your shots, the more points you earn. The game's graphics are certainly something we don't see everyday, and although it certainly doesn't take full advantage of the PlayStation 2's capabilities, the 2-3D visuals are strangely pleasing nevertheless.

As mentioned, the game is scheduled for release in January of 2001.
