Activision Gets Shrek

Activision has signed an agreement with DreamWorks that will allow it to develop and publish videogames based on the upcoming Shrek 2 animated motion picture.

TDK Mediactive, which possessed the videogame rights to the original Shrek movie, is now a part of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. following an acquisition, though the Shrek rights were not included in that transaction. Activision, which had a co-publishing and co-development deal in place with TDK Mediactive, also announced the termination of that agreement.

Activision further stated that TDK “has assigned to Activision all of its rights related to future Shrek films.”
