Sidhe Interactive announces plans for PS2 title.
Third party developer Sidhe, primarily located in New Zealand, has been previously noted for their efforts on Dirty War for the PlayStation. However, we may have another reason to remember the company now, as Sidhe has recently announced plans to work on Druid King, a title to be released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The mentioned title draws inspiration from the anticipated movie and novel by respected author Norman Spinrad. The title revolves around Vercingetorix, Gaul's monarch, and ancient Rome's famed and star-crossed Emperor Julius Caesar. The title is to be a third person action adventure game, and reportedly will be completed sometime early in 2002.
"We are very excited about working with both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox," commented Tyrone McAuley, the Technical Director for Sidhe Interactive. McAuley continued, "Having recently completed a PlayStation project, the team have taken extremely well to the new, more powerful technology." Sidhe is working with US based game agents Octagon Entertainment to find a publishing partner for the project."
Mario Wynands, the Executive Producer at Sidhe, had this to add, "We are very pleased to have gained access to such a powerful license through Octagon." He continued, "This is a major boost for our company and we look forward to developing a great game based on the property."
