Sony to sponsor Super Bowl.
Sony today announced that they will be sponsoring Super Bowl XXXV this January (or possibly February). Of course this means that PS2 commercials and Gameday 2001 commercials will be running through out the whole event. The Super Bowl has also been dubbed the "Oscars of commercials" the reason for that is being the fact that around 125 million people watch the Super Bowl every year, and it is the most popular televised event in the country.
With an incredibly shallow game like NFL Gameday 2001, I don't even know why Sony is doing this to promote their game, if it was solely for the PS2 then go ahead, but why show 125 million viewers the kind of garbage that the ex-989 Sports teams pulled out of their asses. I have played the game and found it very foul and completely rushed, to the point where I even think it isn't even complete, and I know that every other game critic out there feels exactly like I do. Whoa, back on track I go now, anyways Sony will offer fans to check out the PS2 with a copy of Gameday 2001 in it at the NFL Players Party, the 6th annual "Game before the game" event and Locker Room Challenge. The Players Party (Jan 26-28) will be at the Cuban Club, in Ybor City, Florida. And the Locker Room Challenge will be on Jan 28th in Atlanta, I believe after the Super Bowl. Just Don't bother going to the Player's Party, it is only open to the media.
