Capcom's Resident Evil creators to develop Devil May Cry.

Popular third party developer Capcom; responsible for such famed franchises as Street Fighter and Resident Evil, have recently revealed plans to develop Devil May Cry. This title is a 3D action game, and as one might expect from the creators of Resident Evil, the title's environs are somewhat grisly. Hideki Kamiya is to direct Devil May Cry. The new title has the gamer questing as Dante; a half-human, half-demon. Dante's weapons include unique and damaging handguns, as well as a more traditional enchanted sword. The scale of the title's plot is grand, as it weaves a tale where Dante is the only man who can vanquish the horror and evil that has fragmented off of the devil incarnate. Investigations involving such unexplained phenomena such as poltergeists and possessions are standard fare in the new title.

In contrast to Capcom's wildly successful Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry will apparently feature a good deal of pure action. However, despite this, Devil May Cry is to boast numerous ties to the famous adventure series, as the game's scenery and storylines are to be similar.
