Tekken is headed to the big screen, according to a recent report from Variety. Dimension Films will be distributing the film, which has a budget of $40 million. Currently, no actors had been confirmed for the flick, though Charles Stone (Drumline) is reportedly looking to direct. Writing duties are being handled by Mike Werb and Michael Collery, the duo behind the story of the Tomb Raider motion picture.
There may be some good news though. The end of the article insinuated that a new Tekken game is in development, stating, "Tekken 5 is in production and games rights-holder Namco is understood to be developing a new game based on the movie."
Take that as you will. Oh, if you find yourself anticipating the Tekken motion picture, we recommend renting the Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat movies to ease the pain.
