Activision's Sky Odyssey hits North America.

Enduring third party publisher Activision has recently announced the release of Sky Odyssey, one of Activision's premiere titles for Sony's powerful PlayStation 2. In the title, gamers will brave over 40 missions which are to boast vastly different surroundings and weather conditions. The gamer is to retrieve the pieces of a forgotten map in the hope that it will lead you to a hidden location, which will host the game's conclusion.

"Sky Odyssey thrills gamers with white-knuckle action from maneuvering through dangerous caverns to challenging rescues, putting their piloting skills to the ultimate test in the first flying game for the PlayStation 2," said Larry Goldberg, the executive vice president for Activision Worldwide Studios. He elaborated, "The title also demonstrates the new platform's impressive graphical capabilities with ultra realistic weather effects - like rain, snow and fog - and virtually endless horizons."

Aside from the mentioned graphical effects to be featured on the title, there are also numerous gameplay functions to look forward to. First of all, the game features ten aircraft. Among these are the Swordfish Mark I biplane, the stealth fighter, and the F4U Corsair. On a related note, these aircraft will be customizable according to the player's level of progression in the game. Also, numerous play modes are boasted by this title, including adventure, free flight, sky canvas, target, and training modes.
