Japan's Ministry of Trade allows Sony to export PS2.
As many of you know, it has been incredibly hard importing or even buying a PS2 in the US. Well, a few days ago the Nikkei newspaper reported that Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has obtained the rights from the Department of Trade and Commerce to export PS2 to any country, and that includes Iraq, Iran, Libya and North Korea. This recent announcement will now let Sony able to achieve world-wide distribution with their PS2 before its scheduled US and European release. Importing a PS2 costs roughly about $700, buying one in Japan costs 38,000 yen ($350)
