Digital Illusions confirms Motorhead 2 for the PlayStation 2.
Digital Illusions, a Swedish third party developer, has recently released word that Motorhead2 is bound for the PlayStation 2. The original title in the Motorhead line, released for both the PC and Sony's PlayStation, boasted a futuristic atmosphere and intriguing concept cars. The developers of the title have indicated that the next installment in the series will retain its original premise, while still expanding and intensifying the franchise's experience with the latest console technology.
"Motorhead2 means that we will be significantly raising the standard and creating a automobile racing game that gives the player an experience far beyond that which is expected," boasted the Motorhead2 project's senior artist, Marcus Nystrom. He elaborated, "One of our major objectives is to be pioneers who create new trends in the industry, which is what we are doing by developing this new game.'
"Naturally, we felt that a popular game like Motorhead required a successor," commented Mikael Rudbert, the vice-CEO of Digital Illusions. Rudberg elaborated, "Thanks to our long and extensive experience of racing games, and the technological advances represented by the PlayStation 2, we now have an opportunity to develop a game that fulfills our visions. Motorhead2 will also establish the position of Digital Illusions as one of the leading developers on the PlayStation 2."
Motorhead2 does not yet have an official publisher, although negotiations are currently underway with numerous companies regarding the issue. Unfortunately for Motorhead fans, the title will drop in the distant future, as Motorhead2 is scheduled for a release before the the second quarter's close in 2002.
