Mad Catz Releasing "NFL" Controllers

It's not as big news as the deal between EA and the NFL, but Mad Catz has signed a multi-year license agreement with the NFL to produce customized NFL team controllers. Mad Catz will produce a controller for each of the 32 NFL football teams - stylized with the team's colors and logos.

"Football is the most watched sport in America and we've given fans one more way to show their team pride," commented Darren Richardson, President and CEO of Mad Catz. "With the strength of the NFL property and the extreme popularity of football video games, we are confident this product will score with sports and video game fans alike."

The new NFL controllers for PlayStation 2 are scheduled to release January 2005 through online and team stores at a suggested retail price of $29.99. NFL licensed controllers for the Xbox are scheduled to hit the market in the second quarter 2005.
