New Driver For 2006

Atari has announced that a new Driver game is in development and is currently slated for a release in early 2006.

Atari is keeping details under tight wraps, but what we do know about the game is that it will take place in New York City. The game is also said to promise an “open-ended mission structure” and is slated to be the first game in the series to be online.

Atari Europe’s marketing director, Cyril Voiron, gives Driver fans this tasty nugget that will hopefully sway them back to the series after the lackluster Driv3r: "For the return of the franchise that started it all, we are focusing on the key qualities that attract millions of fans to the Driver brand and make it the success that it is."

Let’s hope so.
