1.4 million PS2 should've been shipped by now.
It's the end of the year and if Sony stayed true to their promise, then the Playstation 2 should have sold 1.4 million Playstation 2s, since its release back in October 26th, 2000. Every week after October 26th, Sony promised to launch an extra 100,000 PS2 units, and earlier some reports have surfaced that Sony was not delivering, although Sony put those rumors to rest. I actually saw 20 Playstation 2s being delivered to a local Stop 'n Save (EBWorld), and since I know the whole staff at the store by name, they have told me that Sony has been sending them PS2s every Thursday or Friday. Currently Sony holds 67.9% of the console sales, leaving Sega and Nintendo badly trailing with 17.3% and 14.8% (respectively). This news is not only to tell you that Sony has sold 1.4 million PS2s, but to also make note that PS2 has become the fastest selling console ever.
