Universal Gets God Of War Movie Rights

Universal Pictures has secured the movie rights to Sony's hit video game, God of War. Mosaic Media Group's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will produce the feature adaptation. As yet, no writer or director has been assigned to the project.

This doesn't necessarily mean a God of War film will ever come out, but it does get the ball rolling. Considering how cinematic the game is, however, it'll be interesting to see how the big screen version tries to eclipse the game.
