50 Cent: Bulletproof Sells 1 Million+, Gamers Cry

A PR statement sent out yesterday by Vivendi Universal games cites that 50 Cent's first (and, if there is justice in this world, his last) foray into the world of video games sold over 1 million copies throughout the holiday season, making it a certifiable success in terms of sales. This is despite its widespread critical slamming from nearly every review outlet.

"Gamers and 50 fans alike have enthusiastically responded to the groundbreaking fusion of frenetic gameplay and the lyrical imagery of the exclusive 50 Cent music tracks in 50 Cent: Bulletproof," said Cindy Cook, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, VU Games. "The strong sales of Bulletproof underscore the undeniable appeal of the artist, his music and the engaging interactive experience that this game delivers."

Bulletproof would not be the first game to defy such odds, instead joining the long line of licensed pap (like Enter The Matrix) that sold oddles despite glaring gameplay/graphical problems and bugs present upon release.
