Mucky Foot signs on with Activision.
Activision, publishers of the popular Tony Hawk franchise have announced that they have signed a deal with UK-based developer Mucky Foot. This deal revolves around a sequel to Blade that Mucky Foot will develop for next-generation console(s). Mucky Foot was the developer of Urban Chaos, which still resides as PSX Extreme lowest rated game ever, scoring an overall of 2.1, YUCK! Hopefully Mucky Foot does wonders for this new Blade sequel.
When announcing this arrangement, Activision's Vice President, European Studios, Julian Lynn-Evans said, "Activision is committed to partnering with the very best British developers. Mucky Foot is clearly one of the most innovative talents in our business and I'm extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with them".
"We are delighted that Activision has decided to work with Mucky Foot on this exciting new project," stated Mike Diskett. "Activision's long-standing commitment to partnership and independent development, coupled with our vision as one of the pre-eminent game developers, will make for a winning combination."
On the Mucky Foot website, it clearly states that an extremely early version of Blade 2 is running on a PS2 dev-kit, with a few textures, lighting, character animations and reportedly an excellent early physics model on screen. It will be interesting to see how all turns out, we may see some screens at E3 2001.
