Need For Speed: Carbon Announced

Things had been quiet on the Need For Speed front, until today when EA announced that Need for Speed Carbon is in development and will hit the streets this November. Carbon is being developed by EA Black Box in Vancouver, British Columbia for every system known to man: PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii, GameCube, DS, GBA, PC, and even cellphones. <P>

"We pride ourselves on our ability to reinvent the franchise and continually uncover new and exciting trends in car culture. Canyon Racing is a real test of a driver's skill and we think it provides a fantastic game play opportunity to lean into," said Larry LaPierre, the game's executive producer.

Once again, Need for Speed Carbon will be all about street racing. street racing. This time you and your crew must race in an all-out war for the city, trying to take over your rivals' neighborhoods one block at a time. As the police turn up the heat, the action ultimately shifts to Carbon Canyon, where the stakes are even higher. EA is promising more customization than ever with their new "Autosculpt" technology, which allows you to design and tweak your crew's cars in every way.

We've got a high-res teaser trailer for the game that you can check out right here.
